Smelly or not… I like it!
After a couple of months break from my bikram practice I went for a class today, and it felt great.
It’s still like 28-30 C outside, so it was easy to break a sweat. (Well - I always sweat easily though)
This is the fifth studio in NYC that I tried - and it was among the nicest I think.
But still, all studios here smells a bit like an old shoe and foot sweat…!
Our teacher, Rachel was great. I like when my teachers are bit hard and pushy - but still nice and happy.
That makes me motivated to work hard.
All the Bikram studios have this intro special: if it’s your first time at the studio, you pay 20$ and then you have one week of unlimited yoga.
And then, there’re several different options of memberships and cards to choose between after that, of course.
So, if you feel like trying Bikram yoga when you visit NYC - it’s a great opportunity, and it’s a bargain. : )
I’ve said it before - but this is one of my favourite poses…

So many swedes…
So, listen to this…
In a couple of weeks there’s a group of SATS-peeps coming to NYC. 13 lovely people!
I’ve told you about that. Several of them are regulars in my classes in Stockholm - and now they’re coming here for a week, to get inspired and challenged in their training - and to try a lot of fun classes.
The same day another friend of mine is flying in - with her family, to visit NYC for a couple of days.
Four days later - another gal that usually takes my classes arrives - for a few days, and one day after her - yet two more of my awesome participants are coming.
Talk about a swedish invasion!
It would be kind of cool if all of them could hook up with me for a class here.
For a tribal house… talk about Swedish House Maffia.. hehe!
I hope they light up Empire State Building like this, that week… at least! : )

Great vibes…
We went to see Step Up 3D yesterday.
It was kind of cooler and edgier than the two previous ones, and obviously because of some of the 3D effects.
I loved that it took place in New York City - and that it was such cool environments, like the speaker room.
I’d LOVE to have room just like that, at home.
Actually - I’d love to have their house - and live like that. That would suit me perfect!!

And the music - I’ve had the most of the songs in my classes this past year - so if you like my taste of music - go see it, lol!
It was even a short element of parkour - which is super hot in NYC, and has been for a while.
And you can read more about it in Fitness Magazine no 10!!
The male main character looked almost like Ashton Kutcher - but younger, and the lady lead was kind of cooler than the earlier Step Up ladies - in my opinion at least.
It was some familiar faces in the movie as well, from earlier seasons of SYTYCD - and from BDC.
I guess that this movie gave opportunity to a lot of american dancers to show off their talent. Which is GREAT!
And it sure is A LOT of talent in this city.
And I’m here right now - adapting and breathing all the energy, talent and creativity that’s surrounding me. : )
Now - I’m off to see Public Enemy, in Central Park.

Music-love!
Have you heard the result of the Eminem & Rihanna collaboration?! Love the way you lie
Do you like it?
I have never been into Eminem.
I just don’t like him - or his music.
I’ve really tried to - and he’s got a great team behind him and his music, but he kind of ruins his own songs… and every time I listen to his music, I just get un-inspired.
But yesterday in class we did a choreo to this song - and as very often - a song can get so much better when you do a great choreo to it… and so was the case yesterday.
Cause now - I actually think it’s ok. (but imagen how much better it would have been with Jay-Z, or…anyone)
Not great, but still, I like it a bit, and that’s the first time ever.
Another example of that is Love, Sex, Magic with JT & Ciara.. I liked that song when it came, a couple of years ago - but now it’s like really worn out.
But then we did this great routine to it in a hiphop class a couple of weeks ago - and it brought some fresh air to the song, sort of…
it’s kind of cool.

Report…
Well - our class went great. It was a lot of fun, much more fun than I though actually.
We kind of played around and experimented a bit - but afterward we’ve been briefing, and we’ve put even more of a twist into it.
And we’re gonna try this new updated version tomorrow. The participants seemed happy as well - which maybe is even more important than us enjoying it, lol!
It’s a great studio we’re invited to teach at here in East Hampton - with very sweet members that likes to work hard.
During the summers it’s been a lot of celebs there as well - like Julia Roberts to mention one of them.
But since people are here (in the Hamptons) mainly on vaccation it’s a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere in the studio - which I really like!
Tomorrow we’re going back to the city right after our class - and this weekend will be dedicated to dance training. I’ve missed taking class this few days, so I’ll spend a couple of hours a day in the dance studio.

Team Sweden teaches together!
This morning we headed back out to the Hamptons - to guest teach again for a couple of days.
And guess what - tomorrow it’s a Team Sweden teach!
Me and Fredrik, together.
That’s the first time ever we’re doing something like that - and it’s gonna be very interesting.
I’ll do some dance moves, and some pilates - and stretch… and then he’ll do some jab jab cross.. and push ups.. that’s about it! LOL!
I’m kidding. We do have a plan.
I’m not gonna reveal anything of it now - but I’ll let you know how it went, for sure.
And if you ever wish to have us teaching this out of the box team class at your club - in addition to our regular classes - just shoot us an email : )

Fresh start ; )
Back in the city…after a fun weekend.
The BODYJAM® class saturday went GREAT!
It felt like they really loved the program - and had a lot of fun trying it.
And they will most likely start teaching it there as well.
I’m happy for the open attitude and the interest of trying a new class among the Watertown peeps.
All kinds of people came to try it - and they did so well.
I might get some pics later on and then I’ll post them.
TODAY’s a new week..
I’m off in a bit for a run - and tonight it’s tribal house on the agenda.
Can’t wait - I hope all the wicked people from last week comes back.
Yet another movie tips for a rainy day = the other guys, with Will Ferell and Marc Wahlberg - h i l a r i o u s ! ! !

One of the owner, Jessica Page’s getting the class started.

You could get your picture taken.. : )

BODYCOMBAT®!!

All pics are taken by Ellie Kingsley that’s also a true BODYCOMBAT® fan!!

Launch on the lawn!
Let me tell you about the flight between JFK, NYC and Syracuse, upstate New York.
It’s no fun at all, in any ways. It’s quite the opposite.
42 min - but yet scary and just horrible in a tiny aircraft. Talk about happiness and gratitude when my feet touched the ground again.
Watertown is about one hour drive from Syracuse - and less than one hour drive from Canada.
I’m here to teach a master class in BODYJAM® tomorrow. At a gym called Page Fitness. They don’t have jam yet - but want to bring it in.
They do have BODYPUMP® and BODYCOMBAT® - and tonight they launched the new releases.
The theme for the day (and for the launch) was Las Vegas.
And all the classes were outside - at the big lawn behind the gym. They’d put up a stage, sound system, lights.. and Las Vegas props.
And it was a good crowd that was working the room.. or the lawn - this friday night.
The BODYPUMP® team, before and during class.
And BODYCOMBAT - with some extra claw…
They even had this smoke machine…which was kind of cool when it started to get dark in the end of the combat class.
I’m looking forward to the class tomorrow - can’t wait to jam with the Page Fitness peeps.

The word of the day…
Is sore … just a little bit.
Took a class earlier today. Then I taught a class.
Then I ran through the first half of BODYJAM® 54, and then I went home to practice the second half of it.
NOW - I’m on my way to teach BODYBALANCE™.
I think my body will be enjoy - today more than ever - track no 5, the hip opener.
At crunch they have a yoga class called hippie yoga - and no - it’s not taught by a hippie. (Although I think I would have enjoyed that)
It’s focused mainly on exercises that helps you open up in your hips.
I’m gonna try it - and then I’ll give you a report.
Got this on email the other day.. good to know that Kings Island’s still there! : )
