@the bahamas..

…and at the paradise island.. and the name doesn’t lie, this is like a paradise…

Not so much training this couple of days, at least not so much dancing or group fitness.. But some swimming though, in the warm water.. even I (the biggest “badkruka” ever) liked the temperature.

I did see a Bally gym and a pilates studio on my way from the airport, but I think I might take a little vaccation for a couple of days…

The step kicked my but at summer kicks..

July 25th, 2009 | Category: Blog

Each summer my friend Dearin gets invited to guest teach at studio in East Hampton.  This summer was no exception, and last weekend we went out there to visit. That day it was cardio sculpt and dance step that´s on the schedule. Two classes that normally doesn´t exists in my repertoire of traning…

I think I´ve been to a step up class like three times in my life.. and my brain worked on high speed I can tell…

But I believe it´s good to chock your body once in a while and do something that you´re not use to - or normally does..

The studio, called Summer Kicks was a very nice studio where the East Hampton ladies (and gentlemen) can work out all summer with great instructors.

It was a good day… and after the classes we hanged out at the beach at their a m a z i n g beach house.

The last step class I took was at Super Saturday 2007 - for the stepalicious Lina Andersson…and here´s a photo that proves it….

I have found a new (new for me) amazing teacher at BDC. She´s now one of my new favourites… Her name is Dana and I´ve probably seen her on stage in Stockholm a couple of years ago - cause she´s been on world tour with the one and only Beyonce.

And for the I am…. tour she was the assistant choreographer - and also Beyonce´s personal dance trainer.

Here you can see a clip from the World Music Award when she performs with Beyonce.

Here´s a picture from the consert in Globen in May… a magical night! Thank you L for that!!

Yoga in the air…

July 16th, 2009 | Category: Blog

I have mentioned this Anti Gravity Yoga earlier.. cause ever since I first saw it, I´ve always thought it looks like a really cool and fun class.

Today we tried one.. and it was awesome! You have your own hammock (a soft one in fabric) that is hanging down from the ceiling. And then you do a lot of exercises in - and with that hammock..

It´s a great way to train your core strenght and balance - and also body control.

There were two instructors, one that was teaching it - and one that was walking around and assisting all the participants - which was great since the studio was pretty big.

This class, called “wings”  is a Anti Gravity Yoga movement sequence which is exclusive to Crunch.

It´s a hughe succes - people love it! And I can understand why.. it is a different fun way of working out and it fits all kinds of people.

I´m gonna go and take this class as often as I can.. but tomorrow it´s BDC and Bikram day!

After my dance practice I´m gonna bring F and try out my fifth Bikram studio in NYC… I better go and sink a jug of water right now to recharge my store of fluid!

If you like to follow different kinds of blogs, I´ve got some recommendations for you..

This is a selection of different blogs (not just about training) that I like.. They are all written from different perspectives - and by different personalitys.

Gorgeous Caroline Nilsson´s of course - she is awesome!

Jonas Hedqvist - who can resist Joney?

A beautiful blog about everything… about life!

Åsa Ehrnholm a great gal that I see at the gym several times a week..

Therese Alvén writes a blog for Vecko Revyn!

The nice and talented Oscar Nilsson also got one…

If you DON`T like them - don´t read!

Live your life to the fullest by doing GOOD things - that you enjoy.. Live´s to short to be wasted at things you don´t like!

Sooooon….

One thing that I honestly can say is better at SATS then Crunch is how you get received by the front desk staff when you enter the gym… Even though SATS can be a tiny bit hysterical from time to time with all the “hej and hej då´s” (especially the “hej då´s”)they´re actually aware of that it is a service occupation… Here you can concider your self lucky if you get a nod or some eye contact.. and if you for some reason have to ask something - it´s not gonna be pleasant… how ever - there are so many other things that are great so I can stand the lack of service.. Especially since I´m not even a paying member :)

The positive energy I got from the participants at my class today for example..that was great! and so much fun!!

And in about 12 h from now I´ll have company.. of my true love. What can be better then a summer in the best city ever??

I know; a summer in the best city ever - with a trip to Bahamas for a couple of days!
